How are you different from a consultant or an AI vendor?
A vendor has tools to sell, so its advice points back to its own products. A consultant often hands over a report and leaves. SP Optima does neither. We hold no commercial arrangement with any AI tool or platform, so our judgement is genuinely independent, based on what fits your business, not what earns a referral fee. And we stay: from the first read of where you stand through to acting on the decisions, we partner alongside your team and sit outside internal politics, which lets us move faster on what matters.
Do you implement AI solutions, or just advise?
We are judgement-led, not a build shop. Our role is the thinking that comes before the buying: what is worth doing, what to build, buy, back or avoid, and why. From there we help you act, managing or overseeing delivery through your own team or specialist third parties. Because we have no stake in any tool or platform, that oversight stays honest. What size businesses do you work with?
We primarily partner across mid-market organisations, which face the sharpest AI scaling pressure: thinner moats than large enterprises, slower response capacity than small businesses. The engagement model adapts: smaller organisations need speed and a light touch, larger ones need integration with existing functions and teams. The principle is the same; the structure differs.
How is agentic AI different from the AI tools we already use?
Earlier AI tools predict and assist. Agentic AI executes and operates, running entire workflows autonomously, often at a fraction of traditional cost. That is why firms like Mercor, Cursor, and Midjourney scale to billion-dollar valuations with small teams. The relevant question is no longer whether to adopt AI. How long does an engagement typically take?
